No complaints today Jeff.
Today I don't have any complaints, I finished my lesson plan and I think I did fairly good. Writing these lesson plans is good experience because it makes you think like a teacher. I really do find technology these days exciting, I wish I had time to play around on these websites more often so I can learn more about them. I'm trying to think of an example of technology that I saw or read this week that's new to me.....thinking....thinking. I did hear about tumble books, what are they exactly? Are they computer book that you can download for children? I'll have to pay closer attention and maybe read the paper this week to see if I can find something new. I'll post again this week with something.

This class...
This class is fun and can be informative but I don't feel as though there is a level playing field when it comes to assignments. I pretty much have to take notes off the computer when I come to class and often I'm the last to find out about an assignment, I didn't find out about this lesson plan that's due on Tuesday until today, and it's worth a whopping 30% of our mark. Honestly, the only time I actually have access to a computer is in this class. I will do it to the best of my ability.

Behind the times
I really feel out of the loop because I don't have internet at home and I don't have a digital camera. Mind you I'd love to have these things but at the time they are not feasible. I'm glad that this class gives us a chance to explore new sites and play around in them. My goal was to get another A+ but things may not go that way for me this time. We had a rough week in our family too, my husband just found out that his grandmothers health is failing and there is nothing they can do about it and his brother and cousins were in a car accident today, they hit a garbage truck with their car and now all of them are in the hospital and we're not sure how things are going to turn out. I'm sorry to hear about your mother, I said a prayer for her in church on Saturday. I hope that you are well. Rosa

Try to learn one new thing everyday....
Well, I'm really finding some of the technology that educators use for exceptional students facinating. All this effort to help our children and even adults participate and have a voice. To be a part of things... such an important thing for people who struggle with disabilities and exceptionalities. My husband is dyslexic and back in the day, they didn't know how to help him learn so he was pushed through school until he finally quit. This text to speech technology is awesome, you could choose information from any source, textbooks, newspapers, magazines etc. and have them read to you. I really feel that this opens doors for my husband because he's been thinking about going back to get his GED but it takes him a really long time to read and I think it's holding him back from actually doing it. I'll will definately share this new technology with him and get his reaction to it.

Blog, Feb. 6, 2007
Well, I found this class interesting and informative because I always wanted to learn how to use PowerPoint. I know I still have alot to learn but at least today's trial run took a bit of the mystery out of it for me. It doesn't feel as intimidating as before and that is good because it means I learned something today. Thank you Jeff!

Rosa's First Blog
I'm already in Ed 3862 class mode, my ears perk up when I hear anything about technology, computers or education. I was watching First Story on the APTN channel and it was about First Nations People and the internet and how it has affected their lives educationally, romantically and financially. It was interesting because it was not a show I would normally watch and I only kept watching it because of the content. I feel as though I should be reading Popular Science. I'm a reader and the fact that this class has no text kind of disappoints me so if you can recommend some books or articles that I could read I would really appreciate it. Thanks
