Try to learn one new thing everyday....

Well, I'm really finding some of the technology that educators use for exceptional students facinating. All this effort to help our children and even adults participate and have a voice. To be a part of things... such an important thing for people who struggle with disabilities and exceptionalities. My husband is dyslexic and back in the day, they didn't know how to help him learn so he was pushed through school until he finally quit. This text to speech technology is awesome, you could choose information from any source, textbooks, newspapers, magazines etc. and have them read to you. I really feel that this opens doors for my husband because he's been thinking about going back to get his GED but it takes him a really long time to read and I think it's holding him back from actually doing it. I'll will definately share this new technology with him and get his reaction to it.

WOW! What a great story...thanks for sharing...my mom had a place in her heart for adult education...she was a tutor for adults learning to read...a true passion for her...

I wonder how she might have used some of these tools in her tutoring...

Look around the net and see what other text-to-speech options there are...there are new stuff coming on stream all the time...
